For a really accurate SOC you can get an amp-hour counter or an EVision system from MetricMind.com

It still would be nice to have a circuit that drives the gas gauge, but I'm focusing on the Civic-EV right now at civic-ev.blogspot.com

Cheers, TimTimKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09059780797709299125noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2270124316233555550.post-85584360926393731352008-08-13T09:45:00.000-07:002008-08-13T09:45:00.000-07:00So what did you end up doing to monitor SoC. Texas Instruments has a "Impedance Track™" chip that does all the work for you with great accuracy but only for Li-Ion type batteries. If only they could make one for lead acid too :(sparc5https://www.blogger.com/profile/00063684490437512822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2270124316233555550.post-56963888335052669602007-05-15T18:55:00.000-07:002007-05-15T18:55:00.000-07:00Hi there, just discovered your blog while looking ...Hi there,
just discovered your blog while looking for people who have used an AC motor in their conversion. What has your experience been like with the motor from Azure? I'm planning on using one of their motors. Thanks, Tom.Tom Eberhardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16643175356214766564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2270124316233555550.post-24090577660971638832007-05-05T12:57:00.000-07:002007-05-05T12:57:00.000-07:00Hi Brad, Thanks for the comment and the link. I'm researching some recent algorithms on SOC that I hope to implement. Have a great week.

TimKTimKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09059780797709299125noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2270124316233555550.post-43393170388554465992007-05-03T01:39:00.000-07:002007-05-03T01:39:00.000-07:00I have enjoyed reading about your EV conversion. I hope to do the same one day.

I thougt that this guy's concept of SOC montoring was interesting and that you might enjoy looking at his page:
http://www.knology.net/~gdion/EVPorsche/chargers.html

Best of luck as you continue your project.bradhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03900215224430883903noreply@blogger.com
